Two Florida men involved in a May multi-county pursuit on Interstate 24 with law enforcement agencies have been indicted by a Lyon County grand jury on drug possession, theft, and other charges.
According to Lyon County Sheriff Brent White, 34-year old Jovon Moss and 27-year old Jermal Davis both were served separate indictments at the Crittenden County Jail last week on charges of possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana.
As previously reported by WPKY’s News Edge, the pursuit with Kentucky State Police began around the 28-mile marker on I-24 on May 8 when a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle that was possibly connected to a theft in Lyon County.
During the pursuit, troopers reported that Moss, a passenger in the vehicle, got out at the 28-mile marker and fled on foot. Meanwhile, Davis continued driving and led law enforcement agencies on a chase through McCracken and Trigg counties. The pursuit ended at the Colson Hollow Campground, where Davis abandoned the vehicle and ran. Police said Davis was found in a wooded area and was arrested, while Moss was located later and taken into custody.
Several law enforcement agencies assisted Kentucky State Police, including the US Forest Service, Kentucky Park Rangers, and the Stewart County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff White indicates both Davis and Moss remain lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center under $20,000 cash bonds respectively.
