Princeton Storm Debris Removal to Begin Tuesday After City Council Action

Storm debris removal in the City of Princeton will commence immediately following the city council’s approval of a bid at Monday night’s meeting.

During unfinished business, Mayor Brock Thomas recommended that the council approve the sole bid submitted by Looks Great Services for storm debris removal within the city limits.

click to download audioCouncil member Morgan Rousseau inquired whether every stop made is calculated. Thomas responded that the calculation is based on cubic yards, with additional tasks like itemized separately. She also asked for an estimate of the total cost of the debris removal.

click to download audioMayor Thomas noted that this is the same company approved by the Caldwell County Fiscal Court for debris removal last week.

Looks Great Services is the same company awarded bids by the fiscal court for the 2022 ice storm cleanup and burn site, as well as for debris removal in the county following the December 2021 tornado. The company is headquartered in Columbia, Missouri.

The sole bid was unanimously approved. Council members Brian Conger and Sheila Gates were absent from the meeting.

Mayor Thomas announced that city residents should place their vegetative debris at the curb by Tuesday morning, as Looks Great Services is scheduled to begin collection.

In other unfinished business, the council unanimously approved the sole paving bid submitted by Rogers Group.

click to download audioIn new business, the first reading of the personnel pay plan was sponsored by Rousseau, and the first reading of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget of approximately $6.6 million was sponsored by Councilman Carl Copeland. The second reading of the two ordinances will be during a special called meeting scheduled at 5:00 Thursday afternoon.
