During the June session of the Caldwell County Grand Jury, multiple indictments were returned including on charges of assault and drug possession.

A true bill was returned on Joseph Crawley, of Princeton, on charges of alcohol intoxication, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, assault, and persistent felony offender.

The charges stem from April 9 when Princeton Police responded to Varmintrace Road for an alleged assault. Police said they determined a physical altercation had occurred but were unable to locate Crawley, who was accused of assaulting the victim.

Later that morning, officers responded to Skyline Drive and Kimberly Lane for reports of Crawley screaming and cussing while walking in the street. When officers made contact with Crawley and ordered him to stop, he reportedly ran from police and entered a residence near the 400 block of Kimberly Lane, and then ran out the back door. Police said they caught up with Crawley in the 900 block of Varmintrace where he was taken into custody and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

Steven Lee Lamb, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of strangulation, assault and terroristic threatening in connection to a domestic disturbance that occurred at a residence near the 100 block of Ratliff Street on April 14.

Lamb was also issued a separate indictment on a charge of possession of methamphetamine from an incident on February 29.

William Robert Schumann, of Princeton, was indicted on a charge of fourth-degree assault, third or more within 5 years. The charges stem from an investigation after Princeton Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of North Highland Avenue on March 9.

A true bill was returned on Jeffrey Childress, Jr., of Princeton, on a single count of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, from an incident on December 26.

John Micah Flood, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance – meth.

Flood was taken into custody by Princeton Police after officers responded to a suspicious subject walking around looking in cars at Trice-Hughes on March 31. Police said they determined Flood was under the influence of intoxicating substances and in possession of meth.
