Caldwell County Fiscal Court magistrates are pleased with the recent progress at the local animal shelter.
Director and Animal Control Officer Kevin Lane provided an update to the court during Tuesday morning’s meeting. If you follow the Caldwell County Animal Shelter on Facebook, you may already be aware of a situation that occurred last week, where the shelter took in 22 dogs in a single day. Lane explained that these dogs were very well cared for and showed no signs of mistreatment, abuse, or malnourishment. He emphasized that the owner had taken excellent care of the dogs, as these dogs were the individual’s family. Lane commended the individual for the high level of care provided to the dogs.
During Tuesday’s meeting, he announced that all 22 of these dogs were either being placed with rescue organizations.
click to download audioLane also expressed gratitude to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office for their help with the situation. He thanked Safe Haven for funding the health certificates for each dog and Luna Veterinary Clinic for their efforts in obtaining the necessary health certificates, enabling the dogs to be placed with rescue organizations.
In addition to the eight dogs that departed for rescue on Tuesday morning, Lane mentioned that the remaining dogs would be leaving for rescue on Thursday and the following Tuesday.
During the meeting, District 2 Magistrate Jeff Boone conveyed his appreciation for the extensive efforts to improve the shelter.
