Dena Ann Hubbard Richards, aged 54, passed away on June 28, 2024, at Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born on August 29, 1969 in Princeton, Kentucky. A passionate and dedicated therapist, she brought light to the darkest corners of human struggle through her work in mental health and drug rehabilitation. Her work was not just a profession, but a calling that allowed her to touch the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and empathy.
Educated with a Master’s degree in therapy, Dena used her knowledge and compassion to guide others toward healing, understanding the value of each person’s journey. Her influence extended beyond her professional life, as evidenced by her powerful book, “Worthy Within The Darkness,” which addressed the challenges and hopes of those wrestling with addiction. She was of the Baptist faith, she had a profound love for nature, life’s simple pleasures, and her time living in the beautiful state of Alaska. Dena’s gentle and friendly spirit found joy in the companionship of her beloved dog, Bella, and the family and friends she held dear.
Dena is survived by her son, Robert (Lovin Marie) Crutchfield of Nashville, TN; her parents, Michael and Peggy Ann Pool Hubbard; and her sister, Candace Hubbard; many cousins including her special caretaker, Jacki Nall.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, Larry McDowell.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. James Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
