The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a three-vehicle hit-and-run collision that occurred in Fredonia last week.

According to Sheriff Don Weedman, the collision occurred at the intersection of U.S. 641/Cassidy Avenue and Dycus Street around 9:30 Wednesday night.

Sheriff Weedman said a witness reported a maroon extended cab pickup truck — possibly a GMC — driven from Dycus Street by a middle-aged white male with a passenger, struck a van driven by 21-year old Isabella Shafer of Eddyville, who was traveling southbound on Cassidy Avenue. The collision reportedly caused Shafer’s van to collide with a pickup truck driven by 59-year old Stanley Puryear of Eddyville, who was traveling northbound on Cassidy Avenue.

Sheriff Weedman says the driver of the maroon extended cab pickup truck left the scene of the collision.

The crash is being investigated by Chief Deputy Stacey Blackburn.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office at (270) 365-2088 or any other police agency.
