The Princeton Art Guild has announced it’s next art show ‘Project One’ is on exhibit in the Charles Lisanby Gallery through August 30th.

Art Guild Executive Director Melissa Peek says the exhibit features the artwork of 15-year-old Thea Burtch, a resident of Oblong, Illinois, and a home-schooled student. She says this is the first time Burtch’s work has been shown in a Gallery exhibition.

In a statement from the Art Guild, Burtch said she has never been enrolled in a steady art class, and most of what she knows about art, she randomly accumulated over the past three years.

Burtch described her medium as graphite, but she has also experimented with watercolors, oils, colored pencils and clay. She noted that clay is not her strong suit, but acrylic painting is.

According to Peek, an artist reception will be held this Saturday from 1 PM to 2:30 PM at the Guild House located at 115 East Main Street in downtown Princeton. She says this is a one-time meet and greet with Burtch, as this is the only time she will be in town for the show. Peek says everyone is welcome and light refreshments will be available.

The Princeton Art Guild is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 AM to 2 PM.
