A Princeton man wanted by local police in connection to a fatal wreck that claimed the life of his child has been arrested.

Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports 47-year old Joseph Traylor was taken into custody around 3:00 Monday afternoon on a Caldwell County warrant charging him with murder and reckless driving.

Police issued a warrant for Traylor’s arrest last week related to the charges stemming from an investigation into a motorcycle crash that claimed the life of his child, Terry Desmond Traylor on Friday, July 5th.

Allison said the investigation revealed that Traylor was operating a motorcycle with his 15-month old strapped to his chest, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and attempting a wheelie before losing control of the motorcycle and hitting a telephone pole.

Traylor and the child were both transported by ambulance to Caldwell Medical Center where the child was pronounced dead. Traylor was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Assistant Chief Allision also expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance with any information provided that aided in locating Traylor.
