Kentucky Ag Matters Hosts Win National Honor

The Kentucky Ag Matters podcast hosts won a national award for their weekly online programs that share the message of agriculture.

Agriculture Extension Agents Vicki Shadrick from Webster County, McLean County’s David Fourqurean, and Jay Stone from Lyon County were honored for the national best audio recording for the Kentucky Ag Matters podcast. The award was presented Tuesday during the National County Agriculture Extension Agents Conference in Dallas, Texas. The Kentucky Ag Matters podcast won the same award in 2023 at the National Ag Extension Agents conference in Iowa.

Shadrick, Fourqurean, and Stone won the national award with their podcast entry “Advocating for Agriculture” which was recorded at the Webster County Extension Office on March 5, 2024. New Kentucky Ag Matters podcast episodes are available each Monday morning for listening or download on several platforms.

When the award entry was submitted in March Shadrick, Stone, and Fourqurean had recorded and produced more than 100 shows since they began the podcast three years ago.
