Fredonia Mayor Jim Seibert has announced they will shut down water to customers on Monday to allow the replacement of a section of the water line at the Solar Farm.

According to Mayor Seibert, the section of the water line to be replaced runs under the entrance to the Solar Farm and is the main water line feeding Fredonia, which is the same section that leaked last March.

He said in a social media post that with the heavy equipment going in and out of the Solar Farm, they are being proactive on this section and thanked the farm for fronting the bill. Mayor Seibert says this means that on Monday morning they will be shutting water down in Fredonia. He mentioned that it won’t be early, giving everyone ample time to wake up and prepare. He also noted that the water will be off for several hours as this project is a large undertaking. Once the water is back on, Mayor Seibert said a boil water advisory will be issued.

The mayor also mentioned that they are looking into why customers haven’t received their water bills this month, which are managed by United Systems. He noted that there is a receipt showing the bills were sent out earlier this month, but they have not yet. He asks that customers call City Hall to obtain their bill amounts so they can make their payments.
