A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a portion of KY 1943 (Skinframe Creek Road) in Lyon County Friday.
District 1 spokesman Keith Todd says Skinframe Creek Road will be closed to through traffic between Noon and 6:00 Friday evening from the KY 373 intersection at mile point 2.6 to the Skinframe Creek Bridge at mile point 3.4 to allow full-width paving.
According to Todd, this section of KY 1943 has experienced significant detour traffic because of the closure of KY 295 at the Livingston Creek Bridge, located at the Lyon-Crittenden County Line, south of Dycusburg.
He says paving the entire width of the roadway at once speeds up the completion process and results in a smoother ride once finished.
The crew will provide local access on each side of the paving and will provide access for emergency vehicles.
KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely notice should the work be completed ahead of schedule.
