Madisonville Community College and Murray State University signed a new 2+2 articulation agreement on Wednesday at the MCC Brown Badgett Building.
According to officials, the agreement will allow students who have earned an Associate of Applied degree at Madisonville College to seamlessly transfer into Murray State University’s Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering Technology degree program. This program will be available at Murray State University’s Madisonville Regional Campus starting in the fall 2024 semester.
MSU President Dr. Bob Jackson expressed his excitement in a written statement about partnering with Madisonville Community College on new programs to support workforce and economic development. He highlighted that MSU’s School of Engineering is excelling and this partnership further prepares students for successful careers and a bright future.
Murray State EMT Program Coordinator Jake Hildebrant explained that the agreement allows graduates of MCC’s Associate of Applied Science in AIT to complete years three and four of the EMT degree at Murray State’s Madisonville campus. The program uses a flexible delivery model and prepares students for high-demand, high-wage positions as automation and control engineers.
MCC President Dr. Cynthia Kelley stated that the partnership with Murray State and the Electromechanical Engineering Technology program enhances student pathways and strengthens regional economic development. She noted that MCC graduates will be well-equipped for high-demand engineering roles, benefiting both students and local industries.
