A large crowd, including law enforcement, state officials, local leaders, family, and friends, gathered in Princeton on Friday morning to officially dedicate and rename a section of KY 293 in Caldwell County as the Chief Deputy Jody Wayne Cash Memorial Highway.
Cash, a native of Princeton and the chief deputy with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office was fatally shot in the line duty on May 16, 2022, in Marshall County.
In March of this year, 3rd District State Senator Whitney Westerfield sponsored Senate Joint Resolution 58, designating a portion of KY 293 in Caldwell County in memory of Cash.
On Friday, Kentucky Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman traveled to the Princeton Golf Club for a dedication and road-renaming ceremony and the signage unveiling. She noted that Deputy Cash deserves every honor that can be bestowed upon him.
