Emma Tabor, 86, of Hopkinsville

Emma Lou Coleman Kelly Tabor, 86, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 3:08 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at her residence.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Caldwell County, KY she was born July 1, 1938 the daughter of the late Monroe Coleman and Vesta Parrent Coleman who established the Coleman Shoe Shop in Princeton, Kentucky. During her working years she worked at First City Bank in the Trust department. Emma was fascinated with genealogy. She researched and authored books on the subject for both sides of her family. She was recognized by the Kentucky Genealogical Society for her contribution to the preservation of historical records in Caldwell County and was presented a regional award for outstanding achievement.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband: Donald Clifton Tabor; and her second husband: Pat Kelly; daughter: Sandy Jean Tabor; brothers: Monroe Coleman, Jr.; Richard Coleman; and sister Carrie Boucher.

Survivors include her sons: Jim (Carla) Tabor of New Burgh, Indiana; and Randy (Vickie) Tabor of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; daughter: Cindy Tabor of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. She is also survived by grandchildren: James Lee (Kelsey) Tabor, II; and Lucas Scott Tabor; and one great-grandchild: Sloane Kathleen Tabor.
