Princeton Water and Wastewater Superintendent Updates City Council on Rate Increase

Princeton Water and Wastewater Superintendent James Noel provided an update to the Princeton City Council on Monday night, including information about a rate increase.

Noel stated that the Princeton Water and Wastewater Commission recently approved a rate increase based on the Consumer Price Index. He clarified that the rate hike is due to the $13.6 million wastewater treatment plant project.

click to download audioCity Attorney Todd Wetzel told the council members that no action was required on the rate increase and that this was for informational purposes only.

Noel also informed the City Council that the tank project had exceeded its budget.

click to download audioFurthermore, Noel reported he has been notified that Princeton Water and Wastewater will receive a Delta Regional Authority Grant in the amount of $130,000 for the planning of the new wastewater treatment plant project.
