Princeton Police Chief Announces Officer Departure Amid Staffing Challenges

The Princeton Police Department continues to face challenges in maintaining a full roster of officers.

At Monday night’s Princeton City Council meeting, Police Chief Chris King announced the departure of another officer, although he added there are a few applicants currently in the hiring process.

click to download audioChief King stated that the reason for the continued loss of officers remains unclear, aside from the fact that his department cannot compete with the salaries offered by larger law enforcement agencies such as those in Paducah and Owensboro. He added that while they are in a similar range, they are not at the same level.
