Open House was held at the Caldwell County Primary School on Thursday afternoon.
As students and parents entered the building they were introduced to a completely new design for the entrance of the school after you enter the front door. You must enter the school through the first door on the right when coming from the parking lot. Now as you come through the door you will enter a secure room and you will see the newly designed office on the right of the room where the secretaries will be located. They can see and communicate with anyone wishing to enter the building before they are allowed to either enter the office or the building. Once visitors check in they can be allowed to enter the rest of the building. This is another step in making all school buildings more secure.
The open house at the Primary School was for students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. Students and parents were instructed to go to the school library to receive proper paperwork and get information on transportation and other available resources. When that process was completed they were assisted in finding the students’ classrooms and teachers.
Kelly Stevens has taught at the Primary School for several years and shared that the beginning of the year is her favorite part of the school year.
