A Princeton woman was charged with DUI and drug possession after police responded to a vehicle in a ditch over the weekend.
Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports officers responded to Calvert Street shortly after 5:30 Saturday afternoon for a vehicle stuck in a ditch off the roadway. Officers made contact with 24-year old Emma Young and upon checking her welfare, he said officers determined she was under the influence of intoxicating substances.
According to Allison, a records check indicated that Young’s driver’s license was suspended and officers also found her in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Young was arrested and charged with DUI, operating on a suspended license, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, and possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Young was also served a Lyon County Bench Warrant for failure to pay fines and court costs on misdemeanor and traffic offenses.
Young was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
