Adam Cruzen Addresses Caldwell Fiscal Court About Jones-Keeney Shooting Range

Adam Cruzen of the Caldwell County Sportsman Club addressed magistrates at Tuesday morning’s Fiscal Court meeting regarding resolutions recently passed by the League of Kentucky Sportsmen to reopen the firearm range at Jones-Keeney Wildlife Management Area.

The shooting range has been closed to the public since the December 2021 tornado. He informed the Fiscal Court that the League of Kentucky Sportsmen had passed resolutions at its July conference regarding the shooting range.

click to download audioHe mentioned that they have consulted with Kentucky Fish & Wildlife, who indicated their support for reopening the range, provided the county closes the road.

click to download audioHowever, he added that they received a response from Kentucky Fish & Wildlife prior to the Fiscal Court meeting and asked Judge Young to read the letter.

click to download audioFollowing the more than 20-minute discussion, Judge Young stated they would continue to advocate for the shooting range reopening at Jones-Keeney Wildlife Management Area and follow up with emails to the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.
