Bobby Neal Guess, Sr., age 85, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Rivers Bend Retirement Community. He loved spending his days with the love of his life, Betty, his wife of 63 years. They always teased each other and laughed often. His favorite title was Papa. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. He also enjoyed making blackberry jam, bbq sauce, and deer jerky for the whole family. Bobby was a member of Kuttawa First Baptist Church and had been a member of the Suwanee Aires Gospel Quartet. He was a retired welder with Special Metals and enjoyed fishing, hunting and Find-A-Word puzzles.
Survivors include one daughter, Karla Guess (John Rademaker), Louisville, KY; one daughter-in-law, Lori Guess, Kuttawa, KY; grandchildren, Garrett (Sarah) Guess, Jaylyn (Dominique) Rivera, Jared (Mary) Liebman, Shayna Liebman and Ali Rost; great grandchildren, Kai Rivera, Maddie Rivera, Andrew Guess, Eliah Jonah-Neal; two brothers, Paul Guess, Kuttawa, KY; Charles (Shirley) Guess, Kuttawa, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty Joyce Dycus Guess; his parents, Carl Freeman Guess and Heady Pauline Sowash Guess; one son, Bobby Neal Guess, Jr.; one grandson, Jonah Liebman.; two brothers, Raymond Guess and Carl Guess; and one sister, Inell P’Pool,
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville, KY; Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating. Burial will follow in Kuttawa Cemetery.
