A Princeton man was taken into custody on multiple charges following a reported verbal dispute with a neighbor on Wednesday night.

Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reported that officers responded to a verbal dispute between neighbors in the 400 block of Kimberly Lane shortly after 6:00 PM. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 52-year-old Gorden Hatt and other individuals involved.

Allison stated that while officers were attempting to de-escalate the situation, Hatt was yelling, cursing, and ignoring repeated instructions from officers. Officers reportedly determined that Hatt was under the influence of intoxicating substances and he was instructed to remain inside the residence. However, officers said Hatt walked into the street and began yelling again. When officers instructed him to stop, he allegedly attempted to flee.

Hatt was taken into custody and charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and fleeing and evading police. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
