Caldwell County Fiscal Court Approves 2024 Tax Rates and Board Appointments

During a special called meeting on Thursday morning, Caldwell County Fiscal Court approved the 2024 tax rates on second reading and approved several appointments and reappointments to various boards.

Judge-Executive Kota Young called the meeting to order following a public hearing on the tax rates, which no one from the public attended.

Magistrates unanimously approved the real property tax rate of 10 cents per $100 of assessed value and the personal property tax rate of 10 cents per $100 of assessed value.

In other action, magistrates approved the following appointments to the County Ethics Commission:

  • Megan Hudson will serve a term to expire in December 2024
  • Paulette Gray will serve a term to expire in December 2025
  • Rob Cotton will serve a term to expire in December 2026
  • Earl Fraliex of Fredonia will serve a term to expire in December 2027

The Fiscal Court also approved the reappointments of Lloyd Murdock and Bruce Morris to the Airport Board. Their terms expire in December 2027.

The Caldwell County Fiscal Court will convene for its regular session at 9:00 on Tuesday morning.
