Marjorie Loftus, 90, of Princeton

Marjorie Hamby Loftus, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, in Evansville, IN, at the age of 90. Born on May 24, 1934, in Princeton, KY, Marjorie’s life was a testament to her selfless spirit and enduring compassion.

Marjorie was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School and furthered her education at Ezell Beauty School in Murray. Her professional journey was marked by a dedicated 11-year tenure as a secretary at the First Baptist Church in Princeton, and she served her community with distinction as the Food Stamp Coordinator for the State of Kentucky.

Known for her loving and kind nature, Marjorie touched the lives of many. She was the cherished matriarch of her family, leaving behind her beloved son, John H. Loftus of Princeton; grandchildren, Ollie Jane Loftus and Judah Nathaniel Loftus, both of Princeton; nephews, Robert Flather of Springfield, IL, Herbert Flather of Burleson, TX, and John H. Flather of Martinez, CA; and her cousin, Jo Ann Crabtree of Lees Summit, KS.

Marjorie’s legacy of love and generosity lives on through her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Loftus, III; her parents, Clyde and Josie Hendrie Hamby; her sister, Leta Hamby Flather; and her niece, Elizabeth Flather Powers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton with Bro. David Brown and Bro. Dane Hodges officiating.
