An investigation into stolen firearms led to the arrest of a Princeton man Thursday.

Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports that detectives were investigating a report of stolen firearms from a residence near the 300 block of Dollar Street around 11:45 Thursday morning, while the victim was away for medical treatment.

According to the report, the investigation revealed that 36-year-old Charles Jackson had the firearms in his possession. Police said further investigation indicated that Jackson attempted to transfer the victim’s property into his own name.

Detectives then executed a search warrant at a residence near the 400 block of Cooper Circle, where they reportedly discovered the deed to the property, which had been signed over to Jackson. According to detectives, the victim reported that he never signed such an agreement.

Jackson was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property – a firearm, knowingly exploiting an adult over $300, and criminal possession of a forged instrument. Jackson was booked into the Caldwell County Jail.
