Daniel Farmer, Jr., 77, of Princeton

Daniel Ernest “Dan” Farmer, Jr. entered eternal rest on September 9, 2024.

He was born to D. Ernest Farmer and Margaret (nee Haefling) on September 19, 1946, in Oak Ridge, TN.

After the war, the family returned to Lexington, KY. Dan earned Eagle Scout at age 12 and attended Lexington Catholic (’64) and the University of Kentucky (’68).

He enlisted in the United States Army, served his country in Vietnam, and came home as a well-decorated sergeant.

After returning from Vietnam, he moved to Princeton, KY, to work for Special Metals and raise his family. Despite living with Multiple Sclerosis for over 35 years, he was active at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, was on the board of the United Way and Youth Inc, coached youth sports, read voraciously, and cheered on the Kentucky Wildcats.

Dan is survived by his sons, David (Kristi Cecil) and Steven; his grandchildren, Amy (Tristan Hallum), Ian, and Jackie; his siblings, Virginia Murphy, Carolyn Dudley, and John (Sonja); and former spouse, Joyce (nee Standafer) Farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, niece, and two brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home, 301 W Washington St, Princeton, KY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 813 S Jefferson St, Princeton, KY.
