Disaster Recovery Center in Hopkins County to End Operations Saturday

Disaster Recovery Centers in five counties, including Hopkins, will end operations this week.

According to FEMA, the Disaster Recovery Center in Hopkins County located at 114 Madison Square Drive will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM through Friday and will end operations at 5:00 Saturday afternoon.

Furthermore, the Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers in Christian, Simpson, and Todd counties will end operations on Friday, while the Disaster Recovery Center in Greenup County will close on Saturday.

FEMA officials indicate help is still available online, by phone, or in person at the Disaster Recovery Center in Muhlenberg County at the county Training Center located at 61 Career Way in Central City. Hours of operation are 10 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Survivors in the 15 counties, including Hopkins, affected by the May severe storms and tornadoes can apply for FEMA assistance at any of the Disaster Recovery Centers. FEMA representatives can help with applications for federal assistance and provide information about other disaster recovery resources. In addition to FEMA personnel, representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration will be available to assist survivors.

The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is September 23.
