A Princeton man has been charged with assault in connection to a injury wreck last month in Lyon County.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports deputies responded to a complaint about a suspicious person on Jenkins Road, about 1 mile north of Eddyville, around 8:45 Thursday night.

He says deputies located and arrested 38-Charles Breedlove on warrants in connection to a serious injury collision on August 9. Breedlove was charged with failure of owner to maintain required insurance and two counts of assault. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Sheriff White reported that on August 9, Breedlove was involved in a wreck on KY 93 North of Kuttawa while driving a pickup truck towing a trailer and attempting to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. He said as Breedlove was passing a pickup truck driven by Shawn Stallins of Princeton, he sideswiped Stallin’s truck which caused his vehicle to be pushed into a ditch on the west side of the road.

After the collision with Stallins’ truck, Sheriff White said the trailer Breedlove was towing became dislodged from his vehicle and went into the northbound lane of KY 93, which caused a head-on collision with a pickup truck driven by 50-year old Johnny Sullivan of Calvert City.

According to Sheriff White, Sullivan and a passenger in his vehicle were both transported by ambulance to Baptist Health in Paducah for treatment of injuries.
