Mark Gillespie, 53, of Princeton

Mark Allan Gillespie of Princeton, age 53, passed away September 20, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, Kentucky. Born on July 25, 1971, in Stanford, New York, Mark lived a life characterized by hard work, creativity, and a deep love for his family.

Mark’s commitment to his craft as a carpenter allowed him to take pride in building and creating, reflecting his strong work ethic. He was also an avid hobbyist, enjoying woodworking, collecting arrowheads and coins, which showcased his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. However, Mark’s proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his family.

He is survived by his wife, Heather Gillespie, and his sons: Jason Mullinix of Princeton, Christopher Mullinix of Princeton, Mark Allan “Junior” Gillespie of Fulton, and his daughters: Amber Gillespie, and Alexis Gillespie of Princeton. Mark was also a cherished grandfather to eleven grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

Mark is also survived by his siblings, including Bobby Gillespie (Sheila) and Tammy Dupass (Turtle), both residing in Princeton, and Kim Kickasola (Sam) from Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arie Gillespie and Brenda Watson, along with his brother, Jeff Gilcrest, and sister, Annette Gillespie. The family remembers C. J. Bobinksy, his grandson, and Josh Hudson, his nephew, both of whom have also passed away.

A memorial gathering will be held on September 24, 2024, at the Gillespie Home in Princeton, Kentucky, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM at the same location with Bro. Kyle Noffsinger officiating. Mark’s legacy of hard work and dedication to his family will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
