Larry Allen Short, 79, passed away on September 22, 2024. He was born to William Henry Short and Irene Pharris Short on April 12, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene, and three brothers: William “Billy” Kenneth Short, Richard Edwin Short, and Timothy Garth Short.
He is survived by two brothers, James Walter Short, and Gary “Nick” Short. He is also survived by two sons, Matthew Allen Short and William Wesley Short, two daughters-in-law, Crystal Short and Audrey Short, and grandchildren Matthew Allen Short II, Adeline GraceShort, Laine Elizabeth Short, and one step-grandchild, Aubrey Paige Burns. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Short served in the National Guard Reserves for six years. He was of the Christian faith and was a small business owner for many years- the proprietor of Short’s Grocery and Cole’s Office Outfitters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, at 2:00 PM at Charleston First Missionary Baptist Church.
