A local middle school student has been charged with making terroristic threats following an incident on a school bus last week.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports that School Resource Officer Cory Jessup responded to a threat complaint at Lyon County Middle School around 8:30 Wednesday morning.

After conducting an investigation, a male juvenile student was charged with third-degree terroristic threatening after police said the juvenile made a threat to murder another student. According to police, there were multiple witnesses to the threats which began on a school bus and continued once inside the school.

Sheriff White said the juvenile was removed from school and released to the custody of his parents.
