Judge to Rule on Excluding Victim’s Toxicology Results in Caldwell Murder Case

Caldwell County Circuit Court Judge Jamus Redd will be considering a motion from the Commonwealth’s Attorney to exclude the victim’s toxicology results in the murder trial of Eric Wright from Princeton.

Wright is charged in connection to the death of his wife, 27-year old Rachel Tucker-Wright at a home on Dripping Springs Road on March 26. The indictment alleges that his wife suffered blunt force trauma.

During a pretrial conference Tuesday morning, Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins explained to Judge Redd that she filed the motion to exclude the victim’s toxicology results, arguing that they are not relevant to the case.

Wright is set to go to trial on January 21, 2025. He remains in custody at the Caldwell County Jail with a bond set at $1 million.
