Two Eddyville residents were seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash in Lyon County last week.

According to Lyon County Sheriff Brent White, the crash occurred on US 62 West near Dustin Road on Wednesday where an investigation revealed 24-year-old Richard Dennis swerved to miss a deer. He said Dennis then overcorrected, causing the SUV to run off the shoulder where it collided with several mailboxes, two road signs, and a ditch before the vehicle overturned  and Dennis was ejected.

Sheriff White reported Dennie and 23-year-old Lakyn Romaine were seriously injured in the wreck and transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

The Kuttawa Fire Department and Lyon County EMS assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
