Sue Oliver, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on October 6, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, IN. Born on March 14, 1936, in Lyon County, KY, she was a cherished figure whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many.
Sue was the loving wife of Laurie Coanie Oliver for 50 splendid years, and together they built a family founded on affection and mutual respect. She was the beloved daughter of the late Clinton Sivells and Lillian Hazel Williams Sivells. She was also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Oliver; brother, Tommy Sivells. Her life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family.
A dedicated mother, Sue’s legacy lives on through her children: daughter Cindy Oliver of Princeton; son Mark Oliver and his wife Rebecca of Princeton, and sisters, Judy Call and her husband George, and Diane McCormick and her husband John; daughter-in-law, Denise Oliver (Ronald) Duggin. Her brother Ronnie Sivells, of Princeton, also survives her, and together they shared an unbreakable bond, forged by shared memories and family ties.
Sue was the proud grandmother to Kaleb Jarrett and his wife Amy, Kim Sivells, Justin, Johnathan, and his wife Ellie, Jonah Oliver, and Amos Oliver. Her great-grandchildren, Liam, Elliana, and Bella Jarrett; Bryar and Emery Patton; and Heaven, Jessi, Summer, Zee Oliver; Will, Riley, and Mac Kelly, were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them and instilled in them the values of love, compassion, and generosity.
Professionally, Sue dedicated many years as a cook for the Caldwell County School systems, a role in which she not only nourished the bodies of countless children but also their hearts. Her colleagues and the students she served will remember her for her warm smile and the care she put into every meal.
Sue’s interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She found her greatest joy in the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cooking was not just a job for Sue; it was also a passion and a way of expressing her love for those around her. Her recipes and culinary delights will be cherished and passed down through generations.
Those who knew Sue would describe her as nothing less than loving, kind, and generous. She approached life with an open heart and never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement. Her presence was a comfort to all, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Sivells. Burial will follow in the Blue Spring Church Cemetery.
