Customers across all major carriers in west Kentucky and northwest Tennessee have experienced serious internet and cellular disruption for most of Tuesday — with little clarity as to why.

Trigg County Emergency Management’s Paula Flood said a text message went out early in the morning, explaining the lack of service.

Flood said that communications officials indicated that the interruption should be solved sometime Tuesday evening, perhaps by 7 or 7:30 PM, and that it has been an ongoing issue for the day for several municipalities — not just Cadiz and Trigg County.

Those with stable Wi-Fi connections, she said, have been able to maintain some cellular and internet services without much distraction, and until this is resolved, she is advising any and all needing to make calls or use the web to try connecting to a wireless service — or connect a hardline phone in case of emergencies.

Flood also said the outage has impacted Trigg County Emergency Management, and they have remained close by to their Hopkinsville Energy Net service in order to have reception and connectivity.

According to Verizon, data, voice, text and wireless home internet services are limited in Cadiz. The disruption began around 9 AM Tuesday, and isn’t expected to be restored until 4:30 AM Wednesday morning.
