A Hopkinsville man has been charged with assisting in a 2021 murder case that left two people dead.

According to the Christian County Circuit Court indictment, 30-year-old Kendall Spikes promoted or facilitated the murder and kidnapping of Candace Marcel along with Bobby Spikes, who is accused of shooting her in the head.

The report also said that Kendall Spikes removed, concealed, altered, or destroyed the handgun and or cell phones, which may have been evidence in the case.

Kendall Spikes is charged with first-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension, tampering with physical evidence, complicity to murder, and complicity to kidnapping.

Bobby Spikes has been charged with the murder of Marcel and Stanley Bussell, whose body was found at Marcel’s Hopkinsville home in December 2021.

Marcel’s body, meanwhile, was located in a car in eastern Trigg County later that day. Police said both victims had been shot, with Marcel reportedly Bobby Spikes’ former girlfriend.
