An Eddyville man was injured in a weekend wreck after swerving to avoid deer on the road.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports that Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a collision on US 62 East at the Interstate 69 interchange shortly after 8:00 Saturday morning.

According to the investigation, 58-year-old Terry Hunt was traveling eastbound when two deer appeared on the road, causing him to lose control of his pickup truck, crash into the end of a guardrail, and overturn.

Hunt was transported by Lyon County EMS to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Eddyville Fire Department assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
