A domestic violence complaint led to the arrest of a Princeton man on multiple charges including fleeing from police and assault.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison says officers tried to stop a car driven by 30-year-old Seth Williams shortly after 2:00 Sunday morning at the request of the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office in connection to a domestic violence complaint in the county. City officers found the vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop at Courthouse Square, but the vehicle fled and a pursuit began. Police said Williams abandoned the vehicle at the Princeton Post Office and ran. Officers also said they found illegal items in the vehicle.

According to police, the victim reported that Williams was at her house on West Young Circle. Officers stated that Williams tried to hide and resisted arrest while being taken into custody. They also said that Williams is accused of committing another act of domestic violence while in the city.

Williams was charged with fleeing and evading police, operating on a suspended or revoked license, possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, assault, and two violations. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
