Mary Glass Hoskins, a beacon of joy and resilience, passed away peacefully at her home on October 16, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on November 21, 1931, in Caldwell County, KY, Mary’s life was a testament to her enduring optimism and the love she fostered within her family and community.
Mary was the cherished matriarch of a family that admired her for her loving and thoughtful nature. She is survived by her loving daughter Linda Smith of Howell, Michigan. devoted sons, William (Myra) Jobe of Princeton, KY, and Robert Jobe of Geronimo, OK. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, of whom she had eleven, and her lineage extends to several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the light of her spirit.
Preceded in death by her parents, Walter R. and Alta Lee Egbert Glass, her son Donald Terry Jobe, and her brothers Owen R., Donald, George, Frank, and Reathel Glass, Mary is now reunited with her loved ones in eternal peace. She leaves behind her loving sisters, Wilma Hart of Caldwell County, KY, and Charlotte Thomason of Evansville, IN.
Mary’s dedication to her family was mirrored in her commitment to her work. She spent many years as an assembly line worker for the Chrysler Corporation, where her diligence and teamwork were highly valued.
A faithful member of the Lewistown Christian Church, Mary’s spiritual life was a cornerstone of her existence. She embraced her faith with the same warmth and sincerity that she extended to every aspect of her life. Mary’s church family will miss her presence, her unwavering support, and her genuine interest in the well-being of all.
Known affectionately as “Mary Sunshine,” her radiant smile and optimistic outlook were contagious. Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time with her family, solving word puzzles, and engaging in the fellowship of her community. She approached every day with a sense of purpose and gratitude, inspiring those around her to do the same.
As we bid farewell to Mary Glass Hoskins, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that brought immeasurable warmth and light to our world. Her memory will be treasured, her lessons cherished, and her presence sorely missed. Mary’s story does not end here, for she lives on in the smiles of her family, the stories they will share, and the countless lives she touched with her extraordinary heart.
Mary’s life will be honored in a service that reflects the love and respect she so richly deserves. As we gather to remember her, we will not say goodbye but rather express our gratitude for having been part of her remarkable journey. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, October 18,2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Noel officiating. Burial will follow in the Jane Nichols Cemetery.
