October is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s an annual international health campaign to increase awareness of breast cancer and to raise money for research into its prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. It also aims to offer support to those affected by breast cancer. The pink ribbon, a symbol of breast cancer awareness, is displayed by many organizations and individuals to show their support.
