During Monday night’s meeting, the Caldwell County school board advanced local educational facilities by approving updates to the Performing Arts Center and awarding bids for the Butler Annex abatement and demolition.
Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach expressed his excitement to board members about the upcoming light and sound updates at the Performing Arts Center, a project he has been working on for nearly two years. He said that Music Central had provided specifications and write-ups for the initial phase of the upgrade.
click to download audioThe board unanimously approved the project’s projected cost of $40,000, with board member Stacy Brantley absent from the meeting.
The board also approved a bid of nearly $260,000 from IMAC in Calvert City for the Butler Annex abatement, which Roach noted was about $85,000 less than another bid they received.

The board also awarded a $68,000 bid for the demolition of the Butler Annex.
