An Eddyville man faces multiple charges, including assaulting police, after a weekend disturbance at the Lyon County Housing Authority.
According to Sheriff Brent White, deputies found 43-year old Aaron Andrews intoxicated and drinking beer at a playground on Saturday night. Sheriff White said Andrews resisted arrest but was eventually taken to the Sheriff’s Office, where he fought with officers, leading to the use of a taser to restrain him. He said Andrews also caused damage to the sheriff’s office.
Andrews was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, resisting arrest, assault of a police officer, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
In addition, Sheriff White said Andrews was also served with a probation/parole detainer by Kentucky Probation and Parole. He noted that this was Andrews second incident involving the assault of a law enforcement officer, as he was on supervised release for a 2023 case in Lyon Circuit Court at the time of this incident.
