Marion Man Faces Multiple Charges After Disturbance at Kuttawa Business

12-20-23-arrest-1

A disturbance at a Kuttawa business led to the arrest of a Marion man on several charges, including drug possession and wanton endangerment.

Sheriff Brent White said that he responded to the incident, where 29-year old Austin Daniel Story was arguing with his girlfriend at her workplace and then hit her with his vehicle, causing her to fall onto the hood. He said Story then put the vehicle in reverse and turned sharply, ejecting the victim onto the pavement and causing injuries.

Witnesses told Sheriff White that Story was seen placing the victim in his vehicle, claiming he would seek medical help, but they left before law enforcement arrived. The Marion Police Department and a trooper from Kentucky State Police Post 2 later found them at a Marion residence. Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then later transferred to another medical facility.

Story was taken into custody by Kentucky State Police and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Story was charged by Sheriff White on charges of wanton endangerment and assault. Sheriff White said additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.

Story was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
