Officials from the Pennyrile Area Development District have announced that Lyon County has been awarded $2.4 million from the Regional Authority Community Infrastructure Fund.
This fund provides direct investment into community-based projects that focus on flood control, basic public infrastructure, and transportation infrastructure improvements. The goal is to strengthen local economies from the grassroots level, fostering more resilient and healthier communities.
Pennyrile Area Development District officials stated that the funds awarded to Lyon County will be used for a public infrastructure project that merges three separate water projects among water districts serving the county, enhancing the reliability and resilience of the water supply. They emphasized that this is crucial for supporting local industries, improving quality of life, and promoting economic development within the region.
The Pennyrile Area Development District serves as the primary project manager to ensure community-relevant project development and investment while emphasizing job creation, regional collaboration, and funding partnerships in the region.
