An Eddyville man was arrested last week on multiple theft and trespassing charges, along with a Missouri woman found with suspected illegal drugs at his residence.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports that 38-year-old Austin Oliver was arrested Wednesday evening at a residence on KY 730 West. He faces charges for non-payment of court costs out of Crittenden County theft by unlawful taking, and second-degree criminal trespassing in Lyon County. Oliver is accused of stealing hunting equipment from land he was previously banned from entering in Lyon County.
In addition, Oliver was charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief for allegedly breaking into the Eddyville laundromat on October 13. He’s accused of attempting to steal money from washer and dryer machines and causing over $2,000 in damages.
Furthermore, Sheriff White reported that 48-year-old Nicole Wha Sock Mayfield of O’Fallon, Missouri was arrested by deputies after she was found at Oliver’s home in possession of meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Deputies said they also recovered unidentified pills that were sent to the forensic lab for identification. He said an additional charge is pending as it relates to these substances.
Oliver and Mayfield were both lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
