Nellie “Kathy” Gales, 80, of Princeton

Nellie “Kathy” Gales, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home on November 13, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on September 1, 1944, in Princeton, Kentucky, she was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.

Kathy lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her unwavering faith and her deep love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Wayne Gales, her father, William “Willie” Stallins, her mother, Ruth Nichols Stalllins, her sister, Brenda Stallins Fluaitt, and her son, Gary Grundhauser.

Kathy’s memory will be forever cherished by her devoted daughter, Tammy Lancaster of Kentucky, and her loving sons, Chad Grundhauser and his wife Tonya of Enterprise, Alabama, as well as Dean and David Brooks of Illinois. Her sister, Phyllis Duncan, and brother-in-law, Collis, of Tennessee, will also hold Kathy’s memory close to their hearts.

Kathy’s legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Andrew Grundhauser and his wife Ashley, Ashley Grundhauser, Kendell Grundhauser, Kody Grundhauser, and several other grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. She was equally proud of her great-grandchildren, Gaberiael Grundhauser, Mason Christian, Preston Grundhauser, Hunter Grundhauser, and other great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye.

Kathy’s life was a testament to her kind and loving nature. Those who knew her were touched by her compassion and her ability to find joy in every moment. Kathy’s interests were a reflection of her love for the simple pleasures in life; she had a passion for animals, particularly dogs and horses, and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kathy’s presence was a gift to this world, one that will continue to be felt through the countless lives she touched. Her kind spirit and gentle heart will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her spirit remains a guiding light for all who were blessed to know her.

As we say farewell to Nellie “Kathy” Gales, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, kindness, and cherished moments. Her journey on earth has concluded, but her story will be recounted with fondness and love for generations to come. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2024, with Bro. Josh Dunham officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery.
