Eddyville Woman Charged with Meth Possession

An Eddyville woman has been charged with multiple drug offenses following an investigation last week.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported that Chief Deputy Sam Adams was called to assist Kentucky Probation and Parole officers at a residence about ten miles south of Eddyville on KY 93 last Friday. During the investigation, Deputy Adams said he discovered that 47-year-old Paula Hunter was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Hunter was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Probation and Parole officers filed a detainer on her for a felony probation violation. Hunter was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

According to Sheriff White, Hunter was previously convicted of six counts of trafficking in a controlled substance in Lyon Circuit Court in 2022 and sentenced in August of that year. He said Hunter received a prison sentence of ten years; however, she completed nearly six months in jail before being shock probated by a Lyon Circuit Court Judge and sent to drug rehabilitation for approximately six months before being released from custody.
