At Monday night’s meeting, the Caldwell County Board of Education reviewed the 2025-2026 school calendar and the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 audit report, while also honoring the elementary school’s student Lighthouse Team.
The monthly meeting took place at the elementary school, where Principal Malissa Thomas recognized the student Lighthouse Team.
Thomas remarked that the experience was wonderful for her.
click to download audioFollowing the student Lighthouse Team’s presentation, Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach presented the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 audit financial report by Duguid, Gentry & Associates PSC. He mentioned that they met with him and Board Chair Tim Kennaday for a close-out meeting to meet the November 15th submission deadline for the Kentucky Department of Education. Roach reported that the district received a clean financial audit.
Dr. Roach also presented the key financial highlights from the audit.
click to download audioHe pointed out that the audit did not reveal any material weaknesses in internal controls, though it did highlight some areas for improvement, which Roach stated they are addressing.
In other new business, the Board unanimously approved a new copier contract with Toshiba.
