A student at Lyon County High School was charged with assaulting a teacher last week.
Sheriff Brent White reported that School Resource Officer Deputy Cory Jessup responded to an assault complaint involving two students at the high school around 7:30 Tuesday morning. He said that a 16-year-old girl hit a teacher in the eye while the teacher was trying to break up the fight before the deputy arrived.
According to Sheriff Whtie, the student was charged with fourth-degree assault and dismissed from school before being released to a parent.
