Phillip Owen “Phil” Towery, a cherished father, stepfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, at the age of 81 in Lebanon, Tennessee. Born on November 30, 1943, in Princeton, Kentucky to the late Owen and Anice Parker Towery.
Phil was the loving and devoted husband to the late Kay Dawn Towery, and a guiding light to his son, Troy (Pam) Towery of Verona, KY; daughter, Donna (Andrew) Dockery of Dawson Springs; step-son, Jeffrey (Shelia) Butters of Lebanon, TN; and step-daughters, Kathy (Mark) Dutton of Ooltewah, TN, and Suzanne (Bruce) Fraliex of Nashville, TN; sister, Hilda Cochran of Winthrop, ME; granddaughter, Nikki (Owen) Baird of Princeton; step-grandsons, Keith (Lily) Butters of Bethpage, TN, Daniel Dutton of Louisville, Andrew Dutton of Louisville; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Butters of Centralia, WA; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and parents; daughter, Debra Lynn Towery; brother, Boyce Towery; sister, Rosa Nell Son; grandson Justin Noel.
Phil graduated from Fredonia Highschool and was a lifelong member of Green Hill Baptist Church, he lived his faith through his actions. He was a manager at Arvin Industries and a welding inspector for several companies before he retired. Phil had a passion for farming, vegetable gardening, and traveling, which brought joy to him and those around him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Monday, December 2, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 2, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Ira Guill and Bro. Gary Bell is officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
