William “Tony” Sutton, 73, Dawson Springs

William Anthony “Tony” Sutton, known affectionately as Tony to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on April 1, 1951, in Hopkins County, Tony’s life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, a strong work ethic, and a love for the great outdoors.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Pamela Cotton Sutton, and their cherished children: daughters Misty (Paul) Brown of Henderson, Charity (Gilbert) Bailey of Evansville, IN, Kendra (Jon) Pressacco of Dawson, and sons Jason (Stephanie) Stuart of Dawson Springs, Tyler Sutton of Marion. He was a brother to Lisa Patrick of Clay and Jeff (Jean Ann) Sutton of Madisonville. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Michael Sutton, Troy Sutton-Coones, Ethan Stuart, Nathaniel Jourdan, Harrison Davis, Preston Pressacco, Allison Hale, Brittany Jourdan, Gracie Pressacco, Bailey Sutton, and Lilith Sutton, as well as Kristen Austin, his great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, William Elmo Sutton and Georgie Brown Thomas, his son, Quinn Sutton, his sister Judy Thatcher, and his brother, Randall Sutton.

For over two decades, Tony served as a Fire Boss at Warrior Coal Company, where his dedication and expertise were well-respected. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and commitment, who always put the safety of his team first. Tony’s professional life was a testament to his belief in hard work and responsibility, values he instilled in his children and grandchildren.

Tony’s passions extended beyond his professional life. An avid UK fan, he rarely missed a game and enjoyed sharing this pastime with his family and friends. His love for fishing, hunting, and camping was more than just hobbies; they were the activities that brought him closer to nature and to those he loved.

Kindness was the hallmark of Tony’s character. He approached life with a gentle and generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. His warm smile and compassionate nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Tony’s kindness extended to animals as well, and he was often found tending to the needs of woodland creatures or the family pets.

Tony’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and service. As we remember him, we are reminded of the joy he brought into our lives and the gentle strength he demonstrated daily. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. His was a life well-lived, and he will be forever cherished in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Tony; your memory will be a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing you.

Visitation will be from 11:00 Am to 1:00 PM at Friday, November 29, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will held 1:00 PM Friday, November 29, 2024 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with burial to follow Piney Grove Cemetery.
